Sub Par Food. Tried MDR, disappointing. Not consistent. Food is brought to the table Luke warm. Mast Grill - precooked hamburgers in a steam tray. Nothing grilled. French fries were reheated and tough. No grilling flavors or smell that used to draw us. So sad. Waited quite a while for breakfast this morning and and it was still not hot when it arrived. Poached eggs in a cold bowl. Cold French toast. Sigh… Buffet was supposed to be Asian. But was more India fusion. Cafe el Bacio - ordered a cappuccino- not hot and barely any espresso flavor. Seriously- I feel like all the chefs and wait staff hate their jobs. Don’t care anymore. Not even trying.

I enjoyed Lauren Jelencovich. She sang opera and some Disney songs. Very talented. I just wished she didn’t speak to the audience like she was Ariel from the Little Mermaid.

Older ship. Needs refurbishing badly. I won’t be booking another cruise on the Eclipse. For as much as it cost for a Veranda room on an 11 day Boston to Canada trip, it was just so below our expectations.

Cabin / Stateroom

Deck chairs are pretty worn. Fabric thread bare and peeling paint. Deck is dirty. The curtains feel like plastic shower curtains and have holes in them. No sheers or header. Just the 2 sad “shower” blackout curtains. The tie backs are in a nicer patterned fabric but just hang there sadly with nothing to tie back anymore.

Ship tip

If you are a loyal Celebrity cruise traveler - book a newer ship. Avoid this one!

I was trying to reply to HeavySeas- You are right. I should have waited until the end of the cruise to post. We actually enjoyed our time and things improved - MDR service was excellent and we looked forward to the headliner entertainment and were not disappointed. MDR food was very good on most nights. I heard that the Eclipse is going into dry dock in March for refurbishments. I am still a loyal Celebrity cruiser.
