Review summary
We went on a four night cruise from Miami to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico. This was our first (and last) cruise with Celebrity. The ship (Constellation) was old, but recently refurbished. We had a balcony stateroom. It was clean and modern. No problem there. The port stay in Key West was only about 4 hours. That's a bad joke. What can you do or see in 4 hours? There are several reasons we would never cruise with Celebrity again: 1. The nightly entertainment was lackluster at best. Terrible bands (none of them played anything from the current century) and most of the people left after hearing them for a short time. There was no real adult oriented entertainment as one would find on Carnival or Royal Carribean. Just a little action at the disco after 12 PM. 2. The staff seemed uphappy and for good reason. They don't get individual tips but share in a pool, so there is zero incentive. The bar tenders were slow. We asked several younger staffers how they felt about their jobs and none of them had much of anything positive to say. Unhappy staff => unhappy customers. 3. Celebrity appears to be on a jihad against smokers. I'm a cigar aficionado and my girlfriend enjoys an occaisonal smoke. We were warned not to smoke on our balcony or be fined $250.00. We ignored this as did many other surprised guests. I'm going to ask about this in the future. If the other cruise lines do the same thing, guess we won't be crusing anymore.Ship experiences
