Review summary

About 95% of the cruisers were over 65 - would not recommend this cruise for young couples or families. The ship is in need of refurbishment. Carpeting and furniture showed signs of wear and the decor was pretty uninteresting. Have traveled on Holland America and Princess lines and would rate both higher than this Celebrity ship in overall satisfaction. Food was hit and miss -- some meals were excellent while some were only "fair". Most of the seafood was "fishy" tasting, overcooked, dry and tough. Our stateroom attendant and wait-staff at the restaurant were excellent. The nightly shows were good and the excursions were very good which saved this cruise from a "poor" rating.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Inconsistent quality of meals in dining room.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Nightly entertainment was very good but daytime activities on sea days lacked challenge or excitement unless you wanted to gamble. Movies (and TV programs) were old and movies were offered at times that overlapped with dining times making them impossible to view and still eat in the dining room.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Only saw 3 children on the ship and the very small arcade type room was empty each time we were up there. Since we did not have children accompanying us we didn't pay much attention but did not see any children's activities listed in the daily news release.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Quality of the staff made this an OK instead of awful cruise.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
In need of refurbishing.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Stateroom was small and cramped--not even room for two people to sit on an uncomfortable "oversized" chair. Furnishings and carpet showed wear and were unattractive in design and color -- almost a 70's look.

Pros: shows and excursions

Cons: lack of interesting activities on board the ship
