Review summary

Overall this family of 2 adults and 2 teens had a good time. We booked this trip over Christmas at the last minute so took what we could get. The pros included comfortable room, excellent service, good food ( 24 hour options was a bonus for my always-hungry teens). The weather was cloudy, windy and cool most of the time, which the ship obviously could not control, but without the option of pool and other outdoor time, there were limited things to do during the day. My biggest complaint was lines, especially for food.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and smooth. Did not have to wait at all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall the food was good at all of the dining options on the ship. We especially liked the pizza place that was open 24 hours and also Guy's burgers. The food in the main dining room was better than than the food at the Lido buffet, and there were always VERY long lines for the Lido buffet.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
hot tub, fitness center, mini golf, arcade, bingo There was no rock climbing wall or basketball court. The weather was not great so did not have a chance to use the pool or water slide which was closed for much of the time.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Cruise Director was very entertaining and personable. Really enjoyed the comedian for both the family and adult rated shows. Enjoyed the love and marriage show and 80's party. The stage shows with the singers and dancers seems like an outdated format and was boring.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every single staff member we encountered was excellent. Can't say enough good things about the service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean and well maintained. I constantly saw personnel picking up after passengers to keep the common areas tidy. The found the layout to be confusing though and I noticed other passengers did too.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I was worried because I read reviews that said the staterooms were not clean, but that was not the case. The size was decent for an interior room, the bed was very comfortable and the cabin was clean. The only drawback to our cabin is that it was directly beneath the main lobby area. There was music and activities going on well into the night in the lobby and we could hear it.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

stayed with family in Ft lauderdale area before and after cruise

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

3 out of 5
The island itself is very pretty, but it was SO VERY crowded. We walked quite far down the beach so that we could find a place to sit without being on top of other people and luckily found a few lounge chairs that were still empty. It was very pleasant, but it also meant that the bathrooms, food and other activities were a distance to walk. Getting back on the boat was a long process. We left an hour earlier than the last shuttle to try to beat the crowds, only to wait in lines to get back on the boat. Once we reached the ship, we waiting in another long line as they only had 2 people checking ID's. It was a long and annoying process.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
smooth and relatively quick.

Bad weather bad all around. Nobody wants to get off ship when in port so everybody eats at same the time. When at sea they close pools cause ship get rocky so nobody at pool but all are at the buffet.
