Review summary

This ship has many great eating options. The layout of this ship is not as good as others. Comedy club is too small so get there early for a seat. The spa service was good and we enjoyed our hot stone massages. Serenity waterfall is beautiful but the pool there was small and often overcrowded. The ship had a bad order in the aft. Friendly staff on this ship. The “behind the fun tour” tour was great and worth the money. Overall it is a good ship, however due to the layout and smell i probably won’t sail on her again.

My wife and I sailed on the sunshine a few years ago. We were used to dream class ships and the sunshine was the smallest ship we have ever sailed on. The ship layout was not great. It seems like during the remodel, carnival tried to put too much on to such a small boat. Several areas of the ship would be one thing during the day and another thing at night so you constantly heard moving chairs or tables while you are trying to relax. We love carnival and are booked on the Horizon in August. If you want a great experience, stick to the dream or vista class ships. On those, you just can't go wrong!

I agree with you. I had high hopes on our spring break sailing 3/24. The odor was bad and the thermal suited weren't working at some points. While they did cosmetic upgrades, the ship sounds like she needs some internal upgrades as well. I won't be sailing the Sunshine again either.
