Overall a pretty fun time once we got to move from the noisiest cabin ever! (and yes...it's my own fault for booking the cabin located under a bar!)
Embarkation

We were on the ship in no time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We were not impressed with the food in the MDR. Almost every meal came with very dry meat. Of 7 meals eaten in the MDR there was one that I would consider delicious. The others were OK but not up to the standards I would expect from Carnival. Bon Sai Sushi was great! The buffet food was pretty good. Guy's Burgers seems to be slipping a bit. I found the burgers to be really greasy and not as tasty as on past cruises...but still a pretty good burger!
Onboard Activities

Entertainment
We really didn't pay much attention to the entertainment. The music throughout the ship was decent and enjoyable for the most part.
Children's Programs
No kids with us
Service and Staff

We thought the staff was well trained and treated us very well
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
I have read many reviews complaining about the layout of the ship. It's no where as bad as many have stated. Th only thing we don;t like is either walking through the smoke-filled casino or making an effort to try to avoid it. Te ship was pretty well maintained. If you want to find things to complain about relative the the ship's maintenance you can find them but we understand the ship is not new and it will have some issues.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
This is really a two-part review. We were in Room 8334 which is directly under the Havana Bar dance floor. If you are a party-person this could be a great room for you. If you, like us, go to bed around midnight you should plan on staying up late every night. Carnival moved us into 8219 after a few days and we had a few nights of blissful sleep! We were surprised, however, that the cabin did not have a refrigerator. We also missed being able to watch network TV news as Carnival no longer streams network TV on the cabin TV's.
Ship tip
Be prepared to have some difficulty finding a lounge chair on the upper decks on sea days. Also the Limelight lounge is simply too small to handle the crowds wanting to see the comedians. I wish they would come up with some comedy shows in the Liquid Lounge to alleviate the overcrowding.
We rate this as excellent only because we are platinum members so we get to disembark pretty early in the process. I still saw many people cutting into the lines and completely ignoring the cruise director's announcements. I have always thought that Carnival should find a better way to keep people from getting off the boat before their designated time.
