Review summary

Cabin staff were hard working. Other than that it was the worst ship and cruise experience ever. After this experience we decided to never cruise Carnival again. The food was horrible, the entertainment was awful, the ship was disgusting. Our balcony wall was painted over rust, the balcony light was completely rusted. The drains around the outer floor was rusted. The bathroom fixtures were old and disgusting. The furniture in public areas were absolutely filthy, warn out and. The cleaning staff worked hard day and night to keep the staterooms clean and our cabin staff, Ida, worked hard, went out of his way to accommodate us. In fact, it appeared all the staff worked hard. The age of the ship and it's condition was the problem. Also, the massage room in the spa was ice cold!

Horrible. Also, the very limited food choices for room service were disappointing. We chose to eat in our stateroom after the first night because the table was so crowded it was claustrophobic!

Total disappointment. Also, the seating in the theater and all public areas were warm out, stained & disgusting.

The ONLY positive was our cabin staff, Ida. He went out of his way to keep our stateroom clean and be helpful.

Outdated bathroom fixtures! The coat hangers were old and sticky. The staff, especially Ida, was friendly and very helpful, he went out of his way to accommodate us.

Ship tip

Don't waste your money or time to sail on Carnival. After many cruises we will never cruise Carnival again.

Agree, there must be individuals commenting who want a free Cruise. It was the worst I've experienced.

Sorry that this was a terrible experience. I've never been on the Sunshine but I do know that the ship was completely redone only a few year ago. I have sailed on several Carnival ships and always had a great time. Hoping your next cruise will be great.

Sorry you had a bad experience .. I have been on the Sunshine three times ..I have to say It isnt my favourite ship .. and I had prebooked those 3 cruises before I went on the Sunshine but I mostly booked for the ports and I loced the ports we went too ...I would never sail on her again BUT I found the service exceptional I enjoyed the entertainment everyone on the ship was so lovely and hardworking I didnt find the ship rusty at all and found the ship to be clean :) but I guess we all have our different experiences hopefully you will have a great next cruise

@evy65 my momma always told me to not believe anything you hear and only half what you see we are going on our 5th cruise in February with 10 people and only 4 of us have ever cruised before.....I plan on making their first very memorable and if the ship is sooooo bad where are all those rusty pics ??????? Hmmmmm have a good and FUN trip I LOVE CARNIVAL

This person who put up this negative review doesn't have any cruises listed. I'm pretty sure this is the same person who goes on all the ships and puts bogus/negative reviews. The reviewer changes their name and symbol very frequent.

I was on the Bermuda cruise 10/1/16 and didn't see anything this person described. We liked it so much we booked it for our next cruise in August.

Why is it if someone does not like a ship or something about a ship all of you just pile on and tell them how horrible they are. Grow up it is their opinion and it can differ from yours! We were on the sunshine last April and had a lot of the same experiences as briannektoole. We just found out that we prefer larger ships. It is just our opinion doesn't mean you all can't enjoy something diff

Was on the sunshine last Feb. and will be back again Feb. of 2017. No ship could go from excellent per the large number of reviews to a very poor per one review. Don't believe a word other then the hard working cabin staff. The ship was Redone 3 years ago putting it on line with the 4 newest ships.

We went on the Sunshine October 2015. This ship is beautiful and clean. Our stateroom was very clean. Sunshine is smaller and older but, she is a fantastic ship. Food was great. Guy's burger, Blue Iguana Cantina, Italian restraunt, and Steakhouse was delish! Great crew and staff! We will definitely sail Sunshine again!

We loved the Sunshine. We felt some public areas were small in comparison to the amt of people on the ship (comedy club & main lounge- an issue we didn't have on a smaller ship or the Breeze), so we had to adjust & skip dessert here and there to get seats- prob a good thing. But outdated and dirty? NO!, food, amazing! So many choices you could eat somewhere different every lunch...although I got obsessed with blue iguana. I don't understand posts like this.

I am not sure what ship you were on but what u said about the sunshine is absolutely false. The ship was not disgusting the rooms were clean and no rust on my balcony. We took our cruise to Bermuda 2'weeks ago and the ship was beautiful. Lots of places to eat and more than enough entertainment

What a troll! You must have been on a different ship than the one I have sailed on twice. Food was horrible?? There are so many different places to eat it is totally impossible to not like something. Guys burger, ji Jo's, Italian, sushi??? COME ON, get real. Only 3 years removed from a total makeover and ship was disgusting?? IMPOSSIBLE. Love the Sunshine and Carnival!!😎😎❤️❤️
