Review summary
We went on the first cruise on the Sunshine out of Canaveral. Our last cruise was in November to celebrate a wedding with 21 other people so, as parents of the groom, we were very busy with members of our group who were first time cruisers. So this one was just for us. Our son and "new" daughter-in-law work on the Sunshine, so we had an opportunity to see them before we headed back north to Canada. Having sailed on the Destiny previously, we were impressed with the many changes to the ship. We had experienced the 2.0 features on our cruise on the Breeze so we were able to find our way around quite well. Touring the ship with my son he was able to remind us with what it looked like back when it was the Destiny. This was our first experience with a cabin near the back of the ship. We normally try to go mid-ship if possible. We found it much rougher at the back. Apparently, Canaveral is worse for rough water compared to Miami. Ok, one shameless plug, don't miss the band in the Ocean Plaza at night. Da Swamp Thang plays a different theme/era of music night. Lots of room for dancing or just sitting and enjoying a cocktail. BTW, the drummer is awesome.

Ship tip
probably the case on all Carnival ships. Watch the size of your cooler, Ours was 15 inches tall by 9 by 10. No coolers allowed over 12 inches in any one direction. We had to empty it of our water, soda and wine and did not get it back. I could see it if it did not go through the scanner,
