This was my 1st Carnival cruise. I will ONLY sail on new ships if I have to sail on Carnival again otherwise Carnival will ALWAYS be a NO for me. The food was good, surprisingly, and out wait staff, as previously mentioned, were phenomenal. I really enjoyed the excursions in Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios - Dunn's River Falls. Overall I'd give a final rating of 3 stars out of 5.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation was weird but it went well. WHen we arrived at the port, we were told that we couldn't scan our boarding passes from our app. We had to have actual paper copies for scanning and they couldn't be double sided. The attendant outside printed off new boarding passes for us. Once that process was done it was a lil chaotic but moved at a decent pace.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I was surprised that the food in the main dining room, Radiance, for dinner and the breakfast in the Sunshine Restaurant was extremely delicious. We never had a bad food experience and our wait staff, Robert & Manilla, were PHENOMENAL. They were always personable, genuinely kind-hearted people. Roy in the Java Blue Cafe was exceptional as well. Additionally, each them greeted us by name every time they saw us.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We really enjoyed the daily puzzle, the ability to grab a deck of cards or books from Java Blue to read, the game shows, the comedian, the Latin Swing performers and the Caribbean sounds band. There was a lone female performer who sang a lot on board and she sounded so very sad, depressing and just plain awful. Anytime we heard her we went the other way.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our wait staff was awesome. Robert and Manilla in the MDR and Sunshine Restaurant as well as Roy in Java Blue Cafe. As previously noted, they were extremely hospitable, personable, and genuinely kind-hearted people. They always remembered our names and greeted us with smiles.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The design layout is weird and clunky. I understand that it's an old ship so nothing can be done ab out that unless they just scrap the whole ship altogether. The wear and tear on this ship was visible. Our balcony was unkempt with multiple areas of rust, rot, staining and our balcony chairs were covered in bird poo. Our cabin was so tiny and the bathroom was unbearably tiny as well. Our cabin wallpaper was stained. Our hallway, odd floor 8, smelled like sewage each morning. It only smelled fresh and clean on our last sea day.
Cabin / Stateroom

I do NOT recommend this room. It's by the stairwell, so we heard ALL of the noise, every night. I usually pick midship but since this was a group cruise our cabins were chosen for us, which sucked. Aside from this being the tiniest cruise cabin that I've ever been in, my bed dipped in the middle making it a little uncomfortable. So I had to position myself just right to avoid the dip. I've never had a shower curtain so that was ABSOLUTELY GROSS! Good thing my sis travelling with me bought a cheap shower curtain to line the inside of the curtain because having a shower curtain is just nasty.
I always laugh and roll my eyes when people whine about rust on the balcony. they could paint it day 1 and buy the end of the cruise be rusty again. it's salt air and salt water...
what do you expect? even the newest ships will get rust on day 1
