Review summary

We booked this trip primarily because one of the stops was supposed to be Turks and Caicos. This was cancelled and we went to Freeport instead. We were very upset over this. The bubble tours for the children were very confining. We were quarantined to a corner location on the beach in Freeport, which was on a coral reef. Not really a safe place to put a group with a large amount of children. All in all, this was one of the most disappointing cruises we have ever taken.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Horrible. They made our children take COVID rapid tests, even though the original boarding requirement instructions said to bring a copy of the 72-hour PRC test for the children and a rapid test for me and my wife. We traveled to Miami three days before the cruise and had the boys and ourselves take the PRC test, the results of which (all negative) we brought to the terminal. Even though all of the tests were negative, we were still told that the boys needed another rapid test before they could board the ship. The final insult was that we were charged $300 for these tests. No one could explain to me why we instructed to all take the COVID tests beforehand, yet my boys were required to take another one before they boarded the ship. And they never asked my wife or myself for our COVID test results. Horrible communication all around.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was very good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pool and mini-golf were good.

Entertainment

Due to the lack of Camp Ocean for our young children, we could not take advantage of the shows and nightlife. Very disappointed again.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Another disappointment. Camp Ocean was closed to children under twelve, so my wife and I could never take advantage of any nighttime shows or activities, since we had the children with us 24/7.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The wait staff and the room steward were great. We didn't have the same wait staff every night as we have had on other cruises, so that was another disappointment.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very clean ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The balcony upgrade was a nice bonus.

Ship tip

Don't go if you have unvaccinated children.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Better than the embarkation, which was a disaster.
