Review summary

This was our first cruise. Even though I was told by friends that since we were going on a smaller, older ship, there wouldn't be a lot to do, I was hoping there would be more to do on the ship then there was. With a 15 and 18 year old, they're too old for some things and too young for others. They said they didn't really mind sitting around, reading, and not doing anything, but I would have liked more options. If we ever go again, it will have to be a bigger, newer ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Wasn't real impressed with the main dining room. We only went once since they didn't really have food for our very picky son. When we did go, what I would have liked to eat, steak, was $20 more since it was considered a specialty. Stupid. What we did have was OK. The brunch we had in the main dining room was good. Buffet seemed the best for us. Lots of choices and usually had something we would all eat. Our son had a lot of pizza from the 24 hr pizza shop.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pool is small and crowded as are the hot tubs that were full of kids. No real other activities to do. Didn't use the fitness center.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows we went to were good. Didn't seem like much to choose from that we all wanted to go to.

Children's Programs

Not much, if anything for 15 and 18 year olds to do together. 15 year old didn't want to go to the teen club if the 18 year old couldn't come and she couldn't go where the 18 year old could go. Arcade was a joke. My computer, game crazy 18 year old went once and said it wasn't worth going again.

Service and Staff

Oka, our room steward, was amazing. Everyone else was wonderful also.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Old and small

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Very small for 4 adult sized people. Having the balcony helped add some room and make it not feel as small. Would've gotten a second room if it wasn't so expensive to do so. Again, felt old.

Ship tip

Be ready to just relax and not do much.

Ports of call

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

We climbed Dunn River Falls. It was fun but was so crowded and it felt like they rushed you up the falls. Hard to know where to walk around after the excursion. Wanted to find a restaurant close to port and had to ask a local, who took us to a hole in the wall restaurant down the road. Lots of shops by the port, but it seemed like they all had the same merchandise.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Swam with the stingrays. It was so chaotic and seemed unorganized in port. There were 3 other cruise ships there at the same time! Our guide said there were 100 groups that were arriving at 9 am and every single bus on the island were being used. When we finally got to Sting Ray City, there were so many people there that there were not any stingrays swimming around that I could see. Our guides found 2 that they brought around and they made sure everyone that wanted to got to touch and/or kiss them. There were a lot of shops and some restaurants close to port, which was nice. Seemed very clean.

We got the Faster To the Fun and were out very quickly.
