Overall this cruise was a great experience . The customer service and people made it great. Next time I will probably go with a different cruise line that has newer ships or are updated.
Embarkation

The embark meant experience was informative & well planned .
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Meals served in the dining room were exceptional and mirrored the locations we were visiting. The buffet selections were pretty top-notch as well. Guy Fieri's Burger joint left something to be desired.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
On our cruise we participated in the Hasbro game show, karaoke & the hairy chest contest. FUN!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Very interactive, did a great job.
Children's Programs
No kids with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff is what made the trip really great. Everyone was extremely courteous and friendly. Our room steward recognized it was my mothers birthday without us telling him . He wrote her a nice note and gave her a $50 spa certificate.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The layout was nothing special and you can tell the ship was older.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
I was not at all impressed with the cabin room. Carpet has stains, musty odor, our ports window was dusty and rusty. The bathroom was equally as unimpressive as the room. The only downside of the entire trip.
Ship tip
Be prepared for an out dated ship that needs major updates as far as the cabin rooms are concerned.
Carnival does have newer ships that are much larger. They have a variety of sizes and 2 of the newest cruise ships the Vista less than a year or ld and the Horizon which hasn't even sailed yet first cruise will be April 2018. Those are huge ships with lots to do. Just remember you can go on Royal or Norwegian but you pay almost triple. Its all in how you decide to spend your money.
Perfect time to explore different ships and cruise lines when you start cruising. No loyalty, no perks keeping you on one cruise line. Explore, and enjoy comparing.
