Review summary

This was our first cruise on Carnival and it was ok. The ship had an old mildew smell in some areas. The decor and carpeting is out dated as this is an old ship. The food was not the best I've had compared to another ship I've cruised on. The Guy's burger place has some of the best burgers. Our housekeeper for our room was awesome, as he remembered our names after the first day. The pool was very small and the hot tubs in the Serenity area were not hot because they were having a problem with the heaters. Most of the cruise staff were friendly besides the customer service area were you settle your accounts. Over all, I don't think I will do carnival again.

Awww, the Sensation is very dear to us as it was our first cruise as well as honeymoon back in 2011. She was docked out of Orlando then. We want to sail on her again for nostalgia.

We just got off the Sensation and have to agree. once you boarded the mildew smell welcomed you. We are frequent cruisers and it was first time on Sensation. It had lots of Pro's as well as Con's. Our drawers were all broken when we arrived. they fix them thankfully. our bedroom light was flickering the whole Cruise. we had an ocean view window yet we couldn't see out of it because of all the dirt and salt water stains. our carpet was all Staind. however the staff was wonderful everybody was friendly lots of kids in the hot tubs but Serenity was okay. we knew it was an Old Ship but don't think we'll be on it again. as far as a cruise lines I prefer Carnival it's a lot more fun. They have more activities and staterooms are a tad bit bigger than NCL or Royal.

Well Carnival is the blue collar ship for the average person to experience being catered to. Please keep that in mind, also if you want crisp, updated ships the yes Disney, Norwegian or even Roysl Caribbean is a way to go. keep in mind that it is A LOT more in money and they do not offer as many extras as Carnival does without you spending lots of money. Lastly, Sensation is one of the older ships. It had a 2.0 upgrade but not a complete overall. Try making sure you do your research and find out how old the ship is. My husband and I went on the Sunshine last October and it was fantastic. Hope you will try a newer ship on Carnival and give it one more try in the future.
