Review summary

I love to cruise and any day on a cruise is a better day at work.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I made platinum status for this cruise and first time boarding as a platinum. Embarkment was extremely easy. We were on board within 20 minutes. Boarding time was at 11 AM. We used Port Parking in Galveston, Texas for the first time and really enjoyed. The experience will be using this parking in the future.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food and selections were good. We didn’t have any food selection that we did not like. We avoid the buffet whenever possible. We like to eat breakfast in the dining room. For lunch we usually use specialty venues on the ship like Guy’s Burger or Blue Iguana. In port, we like to try local food. For dinner, we normally eat in the dining room or a special specialty restaurant. The Miracle only had the steakhouse for specialty dining so we did not use any specialty dining on the ship. However, the steakhouse was located in the funnel and that was pretty cool. We used anytime dining and our table was ready within 10 minutes of checking in.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows where your normal carnival shows. It would be nice if carnival had more of a selection on different ships so it’s not always the same show. However, the performers are always very good. The comedians that we had on this cruise were excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
On the ship, we did not feel that any areas were lacking staff. The service we experience made us feel like pre-Covid staff levels. I am not sure if that was due to the size of the ship or if Carnival is now bringing on additional staffing.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This was the smallest carnival ship that we’ve sailed on. We had a hard time, figuring out the layout of the ship the first few days we thought we were heading forward and we are actually heading towards the aft and found a lot of dead end hallways. By the end of the cruise, we knew where we were going and enjoyed the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a balcony cabin, starboard side, just as the aft section starts near the aft elevators. Although it took us several days to figure out the layout of the ship, the halls do not go straight port to aft and are separated by the elevator banks, this ended up being a great layout. I believe because of this layout, there was not heavy traffic in the hallways and the halls were always very quiet. Our room, Stewart Emerson was fantastic and the room was always neat and clean.

Ship tip

Watch a few YouTube videos, or study the layout of the ship in advance.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Carnival’s new disembark program using the app makes disembarking extremely easy. The only issue we had was in the terminal, the face recognition was not working. We ended up waiting 45 minutes to get through immigration, even though we used a porter. In the past this process has taken less than 10 minutes.
