Review summary

Decided to give Carnival another try after 16 years (last cruise was in 2002) because the price was very attractive. All I have to say is WOW, did this cruise line improve! I can imagine with the newer ships, it only gets better!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Carnival couldn't have made our embarkation in Tampa any easier! Seamless process throughout and we hardly waited longer than five minutes at document check or security.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food and drink on this ship was surprisingly good! The buffet was solid! They were really shining in the vegetables department. In fact, the veggies were so good, that this was the first cruise I ever lost weight on! Seriously came home five pounds lighter! We did Nick and Nora's (steakhouse) the first night and it blew me away! I'd easily pay over $100 per person for a meal like that on land! The food in the Bacchus dining room was very good! We always found something to our liking. The menu had nice variety and the staff was excellent! We LOVED our waitress, Maliwan from Thailand! The pizzas at Pizza Pirate really surprised me! My favorite was the prosciutto and arugula one, but they were so good, we tried them all! Now, the Miracle is one of the Carnival ships that (at the time I went) didn't yet have a Guy's Burgers or a Blue Iguana Cantina. Can't wait to try those on my next Carnival cruise!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools and hot tubs never felt too crowded on this ship. The Miracle (at the time I went) isn't one of the Carnival ships with the latest bells and whistles, but I always found things to do and never felt bored. The arcade is a little hidden on this ship. We really enjoyed the mini golf course!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows were really good! Also, they were just the right length. We loved catching the 7:00pm show that ended just right before our scheduled time in the main dining room. We also loved the talent in the comedy shows!

Children's Programs

We did not travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were all fantastic! Special mention goes to our cabin steward, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Also, our main dining room waitress, who could anticipate our every need. That level of skill takes long to achieve and she's a really great asset to the Carnival team.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was really well laid out. Floor plan was extremely easy to follow. Common areas were spotless. This was a pretty big ship and it never felt crowded. I loved the size of the Serenity deck and that it has its own hot tub.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I was surprised at the amount of storage space and the size and layout of the room. It was my first time booking a balcony room and I may not go back to interior (unless the savings are really worth it).

Ship tip

Check to see whether this ship has been updated with the latest venues that Carnival offers.

Disembarkation

Wow! Immigration took all of 30 seconds and it was incredibly easy to find my bag and head to the airport. Shuttles to the airport for $8 a person were readily waiting as soon as you came outside.
