A quick cruise with mediocre ports. Food not great, but excellent entertainment.

Embarkation

Easy peasy with VeriFLY.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Not great. Buffet desserts (only cakes offered) were absolutely awful. The Sea Day Brunch in the main dining room was the best meal. Blue Iguana tacos and the Deli were the best lunch options. Breakfast was bad in the MDR and buffet.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Didn't find anything interesting. Hot tubs over crowded and pools tiny. The Serenity adult area was peaceful and relaxing through.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
There were only two lackluster headline shows. The Polaris string trio from Ukraine was the highlight of our trip. (They leave for 2 mo. on April 12.) BreZee was also excellent on guitar. Don't miss her Beatles tribute. The Latino comedian PG was good, but derogatory toward audience members ethnicities, etc. The white comedian from TMZ was awful. The onstage games were pretty lame. You must scour the HUB app to find activities. No dailies will be delivered to your stateroom.

Service and Staff

They attempted to use our names, but only from the written record. (My friend introduced herself by her nickname and they called her by her legal name the whole trip.) Pales in comparison to what we experienced on Royal Caribbean a couple months ago.

Ship Quality

Stateroom was filthy with hairs on the phone and brown stains on the bathroom walls. Dark in the buffet with low ceilings and the main dining room was kitschy and gaudy with giant grapes everywhere, also low ceilings. The buffet area is a main thoroughfare, so constant traffic next to your table.

Cabin / Stateroom

While the aft view (no shade!) was wonderful, the "extended" portion of the balcony was under the angled railing, so the usable space was no larger than a regular balcony. We had been told at booking that our balcony would open up to our neighbors (friends) and then onboard they said it was impossible. Two different guest services people said that. We proceeded to unlock it ourselves with a butter knife. The stabilizers were acting up (had heard about this on prior sailings too) so it was very noisy, with jolting and banging. But only the first two nights. After that it was fine. And there's no engine vibration on deck 7. You can definitely (from inside) hear neighbors dragging deck chairs around though.

Ship tip

Read the HUB app carefully, and book your meals before leaving the room. We missed breakfast in the MDR by 5 min. because it ended at 9:30 on Catalina day but at 9:00 on Ensenada day.

Disembarkation

Quick and easy. Didn't even have to show a passport with facial recognition. Long walk down the ramp though.

Appreciate your feedback. Spring Break is a challenging time to sail!
