Review summary

It was our first cruise vacation with my brother and we now know that we are not the multi-day cruising types. The pros are that everything is within reach and done for you. The beds were made as soon as we were off for breakfast and bathroom cleaned after every shower. We had a balcony so the sunsets were spectacular each evening! The food was available in plenty and many dining options. The cons were that the food was terrible for most part, either fried or sautéed in lots of oil (high quantity, poor quality). The 24-hr dining area served the wrong food-pizza and ice cream. Then the alcohol was overpriced, almost equivalent to Manhattan prices! The entertainment was okay, there were mornings and afternoons that I had really nothing to do because of boring onboard activities schedule. More dance classes (more than 1) will be appreciated, and oh they has some really bad comedians scheduled every night, not funny at all!

Conveniently located near the Aft elevators.

Ship tip

Max out your alcohol allowance on initial on boarding, it is expensive on the ship bars. Also take your time to book the excursions, some of the self guided excursions I made to town were the best ever! Bring your own music (iTunes/ipod/ect) you will have plenty of time to entertain yourself.

It sounds like you had a so-so cruise on the Carnival Miracle.  I have not sailed on this ship myself but on all my Carnival cruises of which I have taken many, I have been satisfied with the food.  Sorry to read that the food is going downhill.  I bring my iPad and Kindle with me when I cruise so I am never bored.  I don't rely on the activities to keep me occupied.

Welcome to the world of cruising.  I hope that your next cruise meets your expectations.  I enjoyed reading that you liked the service in your cabin and enjoyed the sunsets.
