Review summary

First time cruising solo and with carnival. Got a great deal on my room (still had to pay the solo tax though) and the free upgrade was nice as well. Experience was great and would definitely go again on this ship or with carnival!

Cruise Terminal 3 at Port Canaveral was very nice, super fresh. Did the VeriFLY documents upload which made things super quick. Went from drop off to on the ship in maybe 30 minutes or less!

For what I paid for the cruise it was not disappointing at all. Would definitely go on this ship/with carnival again. MDR could be a bit better but it was still satisfactory.

Emile's Lido Restaurant

Overall good buffet, small number of choices though very delicious and supplemented by the special food outlets in the buffet. The cakes are good too 😋

Guy's Burger Joint

If you want a juciy burger, this is the place to go! Never had to wait long in line either.

Hot & Cool Dance Club

Will say that the night club had a lot of energy but the speakers were VERY LOUD, my ears would ring for hours after, so I hope I did not damage my hearing (recommend ear plugs). DJ kept it going hot! Was never empty or boring.

Pizzeria

Can have a long line at night (somebody said it was very long the second day at 4AM!!, but this may have been because the night club had closed not too long before that) but pizza is very tasty and it's open 24/7

Silver Olympian Restaurant

Have cruised with Royal Caribbean my other two cruises and I have to say unfortunately the MDR is good, but could be better. The food portions are somewhat small but tasty, but the choices left a lacking feeling. Still great though given what I paid for the trip. Formal night prime rib was on point!

Saw the last of my on-board credit dissappear here. Smoking smell seemed to be well contained despite being open to the hallway on deck 5. Lots and lots of machines to choose from.

I wonder if anybody actually watched the entire Dune movie on the first night 🤣 I had to leave to go to the night club halfway through. Selection of movies is good.

Staff were great, room steward always called me by name and was very friendly, breakfast wait staff were nice as well. Made sure to tip for job well done!

Ship Quality

Liberty is an older ship but still has freshness in it. Really liked the cabin hallways and the interesting decoration styles from days past. It's a nice contrast to the more modern cruise style ships. Things were always clean as well.

Cabin / Stateroom

Originally booked a interior bunkbed stateroom with portholes as I was going solo. Found out I was upgraded for free to a full oceanview room on the same deck (1). The new room was right next to the forward elevator and stairs but I rarely ever had an issue with noise. Only thing I could hear was a machine making a whooshing sound every now and then, presumably from below, but it was in no way annoying or prevented me from sleeping. Shower is nice and cozy too. Only issue I had was my room PA speak did not seem to work so I had to listen to the muffled announcement though the door 😅

Ship tip

If you're thinking about going on this ship just go ahead and book already! If you want to go to the night club consider earplugs. Also note you can't go on deck 3 between the Gold and Silver Olympian MDRs, the galley is in the way, so if you're forward you can go up or down to gold and if you're aft you can go up or down to the silver, otherwise you will have to walk your floor to the other end of the ship and then go up or down to deck 3.
