Review summary

Overall, great! I am officially hooked. I can't wait to book my next cruise. I think the Carnival Liberty is a great short cruise for the first timer, or someone just looking for a quick get-away.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze! We chose 11:30 boarding time and after a delay with our shuttle service, we arrived around 10:45. Baggage was checked fast and easy, short walk to the gangway, made our way up the gangway and bam! We were at the check in counter! That was also fast and easy. The staff manning the counter were super pleasant and very helpful. On to the first set of MANY pictures as we left the check in area and then it was on to the ship! My only sad moment was there was no one at the door greeting everyone as we entered the ship. I was really waiting for the experience I've seen online and on TV. Oh well, a minor let down but I didn't let it cloud the day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We dined mainly in the Golden Olympian for dinner and one breakfast. The Mongolian Wok is not to be missed! But get there early, that line gets long really fast. Our only negative was the food in the MDR was never quite hot. Except for the chocolate melting cake, that thing will burn your taste buds off. Ohhhh but it's so worth it! Our all around favorite-The Seafood Shack and Guy's Burgers!!!!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pools and Jacuzzis were "ok", all were smaller than I imagined. The serenity area seemed to have lots of young people who didn't look old enough to be there.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Macio A+ Donkey Salazar A+ Everything they did was just great. I don't know when I have laughed so hard (Macio) or enjoyed myself more (every show with Donkey)

Children's Programs

not traveling with children. i wish more parents had taken advantage of children's programs.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The dining staff just didn't seem to care. I know they must be over worked and tired, but almost everyone had a air of "I don't care" about them. They just seemed so over it. I was excited because this was my very first cruise so I may have had higher expectations. However, if I was given this type of service at a restaurant on land, NO WAY would I have offered a gratuity!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The design is nice, I liked it, especially the lighting. Everything seemed pretty clean. The only areas of concern were the public bathrooms. I think they could have been cleaned more regularly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
My friend thought the cabin was larger than other cruises she's been on. We were definitely not bumping into each other. The beds were comfy as were the pillows. Our cabin steward was always available (I don't know how he did it!) and kept the place in perfect order. The bathroom offered ample space and was kept as clean as a whistle.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Our experience was ok, however, people who were in wheelchairs seemed to have a difficult time. I wondered why there wasn't more staff available to assist them. I helped two people who had difficulty getting on an elevator. Other passengers just pushed right past them. People never cease to amaze me.

@teriugogirl that sounds amazing! I am seriously thinking of making Florida my retirement home for just that reason.

It doesn't take long to get hooked. I am definitely a cruise junkie. I need to move to Florida so I can go on more cruises. I think a lot of people use those short cruises ad a long weekend party!! I liked the Liberty when I was on her in April.
