Review summary

The ship looked impressive; however, it needs work. The rooms had horrible beds. Everyone we talked to complained about the same thing - sagging mattresses. I don't know why the rooms have a thermostat as they don't work in anyone's room. We asked people on different decks. We were on 8. Only 1 temp blows from the vent, and it shuts off after a certain time at night. Elevators were constantly breaking down - 3 while I was in them. Then when we arrived at St. Thomas, we didn't get into port because of a \"small propulsion problem\" that took them nearly 2.5 hours to fix. The captain did however compensate by allowing the ship to stay at the island 1 hour later than scheduled to make up for the time. Every night in the dinning room, you and your chair shook from the ship's vibration. We were all worried this was going to turn into the \"T\" ship. I mean, you could feel the ship's vibration all the time and everywhere, but it was extremely evident in the Silver & Gold dinning rooms. I have small kids, and I love them. I like kids; however, the Serenity Deck rules says \"Guest 21 & Over\". I didn't have my kids on this trip because this was a romantic trip. I didn't want to hear shrill voices, crying, or be splashed with water. Other cruisers: be respectful of your fellow cruisers, and staff, please enforce the rules!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Everything was great except the long line at the Mongolian Wok. There has to be something done about that! Two people who can't work all 3 woks\, and it takes 1.5 hours to get a bowl of stir fry?!?! All the other areas were great. The dinning room food was excellent for me\, although my spouse had issues with a few items. I was never disappointed.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
What we did on the ship was fun\, but we were off the ship more than on.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was polite and helpful. Our wait staff was exceptional every night. Hotel staff did an excellent job of trying to make our horrible room more comfortable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Public areas were always clean. Decor was nice. Loved the color changing lights. They were subtle and not flashy which would have bothered me due to a medical condition. Be careful about the layout though. It was easy to get turned around and lost - just ask my spouse!!

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Horrible\, sagging beds. Hot. Did I mention HOT?!?! Thermostat doesn't even work in the rooms!! The house keeping staff did everything they could to make us happy under the conditions though.

Pros: Itinerary/Food/Staff

Cons: Engine Problems/Rooms/Long line at Mongolian Wok/Serenity Deck rules Not Enforced
