Review summary

Overall we still had a good time despite some of the smells on the boat or the subpar ATV tour (which we booked offshore, not through the cruise line). Would suggest this cruise to anybody as a first time cruise but we will likely explore other options continue comparisons.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Didn’t get to enjoy much on the ship because we avoided several events due to the smells in the vicinity.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We struggled to watch one of the shows because we were blinded by a spotlight that kept hitting us in the face. It was kinda comical. First show was so-so. But the second night show was great.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
We had two older teen boys and it was very unclear the first day and a half what the hours of the teen room and activities would be. They didn’t get to enjoy it until the last night there. But did have a great time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
We noticed a bad smell throughout most of the ship the entire time that was a cross between sewage and chemicals. It was a bit overpowering and we ended up avoiding certain areas of the boat because of it. Which is hard because we also avoided any events near the casino because the cigarette smoke was also overwhelming and nauseating.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cramming 4 people into this small cabin is not recommended. I had to sleep on the extra tiny bed that was halfway under the desk so my knees kept hitting, and I’m only 5’ tall! The other bed broke one of the nights there (legs broke) and they were super quick to get a new frame in there and made up the bed very nicely. Staff is great and friendly!

Ship tip

While the staff were great the shop itself was a bit disappointing. We had just as good a time on the imagination 3 day version if you’re okay not going to Catalina. But still glad we did it, loved the snorkeling in Catalina.

Ports of call

Catalina Island, California

3 out of 5
I’m not big into shopping which is what most of the little town is about. We didn’t get to go do any of the wine related things because we had minors with us. Snorkeling was cool but we kept having to watch out for the glass bottom submarine which limited where we could snorkel.

So glad you enjoyed. A cruise isn’t always perfect but you can either enjoy or you can be miserable. Sounds like you have a great attitude.
