Review summary

Overall this is a cheap and short getaway. We’ve been to it at least five times and will probably go on more. It can’t compare to the newer, fancier ships. But you can escape the daily grind by spending a few hundred dollars to have food, drink and lodging for three days. You can do as much or as little as you wish. Eat as much or as little as you wish. Drink as much or as little as you wish. It’s not a bad deal.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was fast and painless. Our boarding time was 1:30pm but were allowed to check in at 10:30am and boarded at 11:15am.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The shop was only 1/2 full so no waiting for anything. We chose Anytime dining in Pride Restaurant. Food was OK. Wait staff friendly. Im not a burger person but you’ve got to try The Guy’s Burger. Pig Patty was to die for! Fish taco at the taco place (forgot the name) was yummy. Buffet was ok. Carnival really need to improve their dessert menu by including sugar free desserts! Also, label the healthy dessert better. Their “healthy” option doesn’t tell you much.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The only activity I did was the fitness center. The equipments were in good condition. The gym was clean. Towel folding and ice carving would be interesting to first time cruisers. Been there, done that.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
I didn’t go to the show “Diva” because already seen it the last time we cruised the same ship four months ago And was annoyed by the flashing lights.

Dynasty Main Lounge

1 out of 5

The show was ok except one very extremely annoying thing: the spot light keeps flashing into your eyes directly. As you were sitting there enjoying the show and all of a sudden, wham! You’re blinded for a few seconds. After you readjusted your eyesight and started watching again, another wham! And on it goes. Argh!

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is well used but well maintained and clean. The smoking area in the middle of the ship in the casino area. Wish there’s better ventilation.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Clean. No complaints. Noisy at night. Can hear people running up and down the stairs.

Ship tip

Just keep in mind this is a low cost cruise so you get all kinds of people there. Try to relax and enjoy all that it has to offer.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Again, fast and painless.
