Review summary

Fun cruise. Loved the relax on he beach in mahogany bay. Wish there was more non smoking areas especially on balconies which prohibited us from enjoying ours as much as we wanted to.

Fine. I get it. I may have come off a bit heated, but still it seems to me those on this thread only want to complain. To say I couldn’t use my balcony I don’t get. I find it very hard to believe that someone was chain smoking one after the other non stop for 7 days. There’s just simply too much to do on the ships. There was time to enjoy your balcony, that’s all I’m saying. Don’t complain about the little things. Focus on the good times so to speak. I can’t believe your vacation was ruined because of a neighbor you refused to report. I apologize batch123 not my finest post and certainly wasn’t trying to offend you or anyone

And your comment, "Be friendly...."? How about you tell that to the smokers, the ones who are actually breaking the rules. And Squiffy, take your own advise: be friendly. I hear it actually works.

And Squiffy, I didn't interpret what batch said that way at all. Seems to me she was using the term "you" generically, not "you" in particular. Just my take on it.

Smoke on balcony next to me and you'll be reported in less than 10 seconds. Go have your cancer stick somewhere on your own in the proper designated area.

I guess majority rules: "In response to the preferences of a majority of our guests, effective October 9, 2014, Carnival Cruise Lines will no longer allow smoking on stateroom balconies fleetwide."

Smoking was allowed on balconies until kust a few years ago. I don't think it's any more of a fire hazard now than it was then. I quit 1 1/2 years ago. My husband still smokes. I think the reason it's not allowed on balconies anymore is because too many people bitched about it. If they take away any more of the smoking areas you wouldn't be allowed to smoke anywhere on the ship. So that would be unfair to the smokers. I think they should have a set number of balcony rooms that allow smoking.

The biggest threat at sea is fire. This is why smoking is not allowed on balconies. ALWAYS report it. They will be warned. If they continue they will be removed from the ship. That is serious business.

There are literally three places to smoke on that ship. forward on deck 3 well removed from everyone. Mid-ship on deck 10 where most of the smokers are, and the Casino. I don't smoke but my wife does. cigarette smoke kinda bothers me too but the cigarette police are out of control. Cigarette smoke is not a problem on this ship.

There is nothing but open space on the ship. There are only limited places to smoke. So....
