Review summary
We have traveled with Canival several times and have actually cruised on the Freedom in the past. The ship itself is nice but could certainly use some updates. The desserts (with the exception of the chocolate molten cake) were all bland not sweet just nothing the cheese cake tasted like no flavor jello/pudding. The staff were amazing with 0 complaints. We did however feel there were not enough staff to keep up with the demand of guests(long line for pizza, burgers, waiting for a table to be cleaned ect.) Keeping children out of the adult only areas was a huge challenge as well. We smelled pot nightly and our "neighbors" were very loud until 2-3 in the morning. Our excursion in Key West was cancelled (lack of interest) and our excursion time was changed from noon to 9a in Grand Cayman(with no explanation) and the locals in Jamaica(only at Dunn River Falls)(the locals at the bobsled and skylift were amazing) are very rude, pushy, and inconsiderate. More food choices in the dining room would be nice but the food served in all areas was delicious!!! We loved the outdoor theater but this time we were disappointed at the selection of movies/sports shows (same stuff night after night). Entertainment should be everynight in the comedy shop and on the pool deck. We loved the 24 hour pizza (which tasted awesome) and the 24/7 ice cream. Carnival is a great cruise line for the price:) We are looking to book our next cruise and are looking at several reviews from different cruise lines to help us make our decision.
