Review summary

This was a satisfactory cruise to get away for a few nights (4 in this case). Note that they serve Pepsi products. Cozumel was a fun stop and there were plenty of excursions to choose from. Masks are required onboard unless you were outside.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty easy. Rather long lines but we expected it in Galveston.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet food was nothing special. Didn't seem to have a lot to offer for hot foods during lunch. We didn't eat there for dinner. Did not eat in specialty restaurants. I think the price was up to $10 higher than other cruise lines. The main dining room food I selected didn't have much favor until the last night of the 4 night cruise. The pork chop (they called it a broiled pork steak) was excellent (juicy and full of flavor. The squash that went with it was also full of flavor as was the mac n cheese. I was actually surprised since the previous 3 night dinners were not very good. The Mongolian grill chefs were in such a hurry to move the line along that the noodles in the dish were not cooked. Guy's Burgers was excellent. Taco place was very good. Drink prices were high, almost $7 for a beer. $14 for a mixed drink. I couldn't believe you got rid of Coke products and are now using Pepsi. This was the most upsetting think for me. Your website needs to identify that you serve Pepsi under the Bottomless Bubbles package.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The one think we were looking for that was shown online was being on the ship was the bike type ride suspended in the air. It was definitely not on the ship.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The 2 shows offered in the main theatre were excellent.

Children's Programs

no children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was excellent.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I thought the design was very party driven. The one area I really didn't like was the buffet area. The area was so tight with umbrellas on a lot of the tables and fake trees everywhere. Very claustrophobic. Shutters blocking some of the window views and the light. Just very cluttered.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was comfortable and size was good. Bed was comfortable. We had a balcony on deck 9. Plenty of closet space. Didn't care for the blue bathroom counter top and floor. A little too much color.

Ship tip

Guy's burgers was the place to get lunch. Absolutely best burgers I've had on any ship and I've done at least 30 cruises.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation was very long lines inside the ship with not much space to sit and wait. Once we got off the ship the process through the terminal was very good.

Prefer Pepsi over coke any day.

The suspended bike ride is on the Vista.

Agreed Coke over Pepsi.

Wow, the Coke vs Pepsi wars rage on! My mom was a very dedicated Pepsi drinker, which I found out when going to the store for her and returning with a (gasp) Coca Cola! I didn't understand it then, and I don't now 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Appreciate your feedback. The Carnival short cruises seem to have more partying than longer sailings.
