Embarkation

It was fine, no issues, did have to sit in a waiting area a few minutes after we got checked in…whole process still only took about 20 min…we were on time according to our time slot.

Food and Dining

We had not been on a Carnival cruise in about 15 years, been on RCI for about 19-20 cruises…back then we made the decision to stick with RCI for the perks, but even back then, we always thought the daytime food was better on Carnival than RCI, and that has not changed, but dinner is way better on RCI.

So right at the start, we asked for a few appetizers and were told they didn’t suggest it, (we said we wanted it anyway) then it took so long for the dinner to come together, like at least 30 min between last appetizer and main entree. (I thought maybe we were being punished for having more than one appetizer, but some people we met, had same experience except they said they weren’t allowed more than one appetizer…guess i am pushier🤦‍♀️. They also said their ribeye was terrible.

We enjoyed the pools, although the main pool seemed really small to us and not sure we would have enjoyed it at full capacity…we were at about 50% capacity.

We watched the comedian shows, and really enjoyed them…the piano bar was a miss compared to experiences on RCI piano bar, the bingo is still old school, nothing electronic. Really enjoyed the Alchemy bar and it’s band.

Ship Quality

Looks to need some major maintenance in areas (painted rust areas on rails) but was clean and we thought the layout was great.

Cabin / Stateroom

Sideways room, we liked but many might not.

Ship tip

When first getting on the ship, you don’t get your card yet, but you just each (separately) make a purchase and you can get your folio number so you can log into the Hub, otherwise you have to wait for room to be accessible to start planning your activities.

Were an hour earlier than expected so had to rearrange our puck up, but was fine…i did like the idea we didn’t have to go through doing customs paperwork when having nothing to declare..really nice.
