Review summary

Just got off 7 day Western Caribbean on the Breeze and can say without a doubt, we WILL NEVER CRUISE CARNIVAL AGAIN....to highlight why, man gets in pool with a open puss/blood oozing boil, people eating and throwing chicken bones in pool, overall lack of cleaning of pool,bathrooms and public areas...Cheers program a joke....have to wait 5 min for 2nd shot of a 2 part drink...we have cruised Royal and Princess so we DO Have an idea of how it all works.... Carnival just is not the line for normal people

Carnival isn’t for everyone, neither is Caviar. Everyone is different and unique and everyone complains about something. We’ve seen weird and stupid stuff on our cruises, but also at Disney World. Life is an adventure, go live it or just set at home! I’ve always been Abi-normal. We don’t drink, club or use the ship pools. We wait for the beaches. We vacation to get away from work and relax. We don’t expect Carnival or anyone else to entertain us, we’re our own fun. Everyone just be yourself, if you’ve even been on a cruise ship you’re part of the minority, most people never get the chance.

Seashell seriously get a spine, your feelings were hurt because you could relate to the Fact that Carnival isn't for Normal people.....Normal people don't conduct themselves as they did on that cruise, and The Crew members of the Breeze aren't worth what they are being paid for allowing it to happen.

I think seashell1 that it was ignored because when ppl say mean things they tend to get ignored instead of acknowledging some thing like that.. everyone's preference is different. I've also been on some carnival. One being one of my best experiences the valor and one the worst breeze. I prefer royal Caribbean cruises now but that's my preference. Like I said everyone's different . To each their own ya know. But I agree no one should be called names of their choice. Etc.

It seems like this conversation strayed away from the comment sunfun101 made, that totally offended me, about Carnival is not for normal people. Sun fun101 look at my history, I have been on several cruise lines and each one has had its own character for that cruise, good and bad, but to insult people who like Carnival as not normal? That was a mean comment and I hope comments like that don't become normal!

5 carnival cruises 6th coming in Feb. never have I had anything like that happen. Not just on a cruise but at anytime in life. Sorry don’t buy the BS. It must of been a week in hell for you or your just nuts.

I'm with you majmom96....Things just go bad for a few and makes it like its never happened on other cruise lines...people are going to be people no matter what family line you go on...Just sad to see that it only takes a few to make others look bad!! But over all I hadn't had any of these things happen....So Far!! Lol. I've been on many cruises with Carnival and some of my profile are not shown....but it is what it is....The saying goes..." If it isn't broken....why fix it!!"" I'm looking forward to our next cruise next year in September to be on...working on seeing if I want to leave out from Port Carnival to go catch another ship in Miami.....We are going to take one of our Limos down and have a amazing time.....😂😂😂😂

I'm going on my third cruise with carnival and have not experienced any horrors I'm reading . I hope I still won't on the next one .

If you want exceptional food, I recommend Holland America and Princess! As far as itineraries, you can find pretty much the same ports on all cruise lines unless you choose one of the much smaller, luxury, ships. 🍸

I've also had similar experiences with Carnival. I enjoyed NCL. What other cruise lines are recommended? We look for rare port experiences and exceptional food when cruising.

I hear you @leonardbyars! Washing hands is so important, especially on a cruise! I wash mine constantly and carry hand wipes with me. It’s not only important for the health of others but for your own health too! So it amazes me that people don’t wash their hands. Of course we know none of the people on this site are offenders! 🤣🤣 on the Princess cruises I’ve been on, the buffet is contained so they have a crew member at the entrance and required everyone to use the sanitizer before entering. I have seen people turned away that refused to use it and once the crew member stopped someone who had an obvious cold and was sneezing and coughing. She wouldn’t let him into the buffet and he got upset and went to the table captain who backed her up. Then the table cabin offered to go get the mans breakfast for him. But they didn’t let him into the buffet. 🍸

We had similar issue on the breeze in 2014 I was so upset . We also observed a teenager being assaulted in bathroom near teen club went to get help and was told by staff they were off duty at midnight nothing they could do. We then went to ship phone in hallway called 911 on phone that went to front and they told us they didn't know where the club was on their own boat. Then on formal night was locked out of our rooms for 12 hours and had to miss formal night because a worker spilt paint thinner in air duct lines making the whole floor I was on inaccessible . Broken glass everywhere no one cleaning anything rude staff. Food was just ok. That was the last carnival cruise we will ever go on. The drink package was a joke.. They don't know how to run it. We also had issue with someone bleeding in pool and they didn't empty it . Also kid pooped in pool and same thing.

We Love Cruising on Carnival...we do back to back cruises....We did a back to back on the Breeze with No Problems...we will be on the Magic to the Western like sunfun101.....next year 2018 in September .....Sad that people bring Bad Habits from home with them....No concerns about others....but it takes all types to make the world go round...What I most can't stand is when People go use the restroom and don't Wash their hands and enter the buffet touching and wanting to shack your hand....Lol. I give that look and mention to them that " Didn't I just see you in the Restroom and you didn't Wash your Hand"....sorry I'm the type that tells it like it is.....and don't have a problem of speaking up to the person .....walks like a duck..got to be a Duck!!!😂😂😂. Sorry that you had a bad experience on the breeze...wish you happy trails my friend.....👍👍👍👍

Sorry @sunfun101. My comments were intended to expand on the comment made by @tcpc2001 and not intended as a criticism of your review or knowledge of the cruise line. I was providing more info for assistance to those who may not know. I can completely understand your disappointment in your cruise and the bad experience you had and am sorry you encountered such rude people and uncaring crew. 😟

When my family and I were on the Breeze, there was a horrible smell on deck 3 and someone, an adult pooped in the pool. The food wasn’t the best unless paid extra for, the teen area wasn’t very organized and the service was not often without being asked. We also decided Carnival wasn’t for us.

Carnival Corporation is the “umbrella” Corporation for different branded cruise lines - Carnival cruise line is branded as the “party boats”. It tends to attract the younger party crowd, many of who drink too much and get wild and lose inhibitions and common courtesies. The Princess brand is considered “California Chic” and the HAL brand is considered “European Sophisticated”. These two lines tend to attract a more mature clientele who, in general, don’t get as wild. The branding descriptions were provided by a Carnival Corporation executive on an interview I saw. Of course, you can find gross people on any cruise. But it’s still important to research the line that fits with the type of experience you’re looking for before you book. 🍸

So since I only know Carnival, I must not be normal! 😂 I’m not going to argue or continue to disagree with someone on the internet. That’s ridiculous. The people you mentioned are certainly not how everyone on a Carnival cruise acts. But you’re entitled to your opinion, so I’ll leave it at that.

I have seen some weird things on Carnival so I can relate to your experience. We know we are not going to have a first class experience. But we live in Wisconsin and don't care as long as it's sunny and warm!! As they say you get what you pay for!!! And before anyone looks at my cruise history not all my cruises are listed only the one since I've joined!!

That’s people, not the cruise line. The pool problems sound gross, but again, that’s the people, not Carnival. The man with the sore needs some common sense and manners, and the people eating and throwing the chicken bones need to grow up! Every cruise and every vacation has it’s good and it’s bad. Totally learned it what you make of it.

Who are you to say what “normal” is? Use Royal or Princess if that’s what you prefer. Everyone knows Carnival isn’t intended to be “high class”
