I wasn’t allowed to rate the ports of call…….all were great except for Salzburg. It should be known that we did not get the “Sound of music” tour that was expected. It was disappointing, I can say this because we did this cruise before with Salzburg. Had we known we would have done the tour to the Cesky Krumlov. We brought first timer friends on this cruise and bragged about the tour, embarrassed and disappointed.

Even though we didn’t receive an Amawaterways travel bag, Before traveling to Europe as we have for all of our Amawaterways cruises, the arrival on board was luxury first rate.

All of the food was exceptional, loved all of the happy hour cocktails. So fun to try something new. Wasn’t told of the assignment seating for the entire cruise but Amawaterways did well pairing us with a wonderful couple, making new friends.
Onboard Activities

Loved the pool, always use this feature. Wished we would have known about the onboard wellness person Csilla and the high level of exercise classes and training groups. 4th time traveler and this was new and unexpected, I did find a small paragraph on page 7 something of the overview on the website. Thank god we printed it off but didn’t read till arriving on the boat. The onboard Wellness weekly overview sheet seeMs like that would have been in our Amawaterways swag bag we get prior to sailing so we could pack accordingly. Really would have packed differently, no need for Gala clothes either, that would been good information too before leaving the Americas.
Entertainment

Lack luster, they did their best and there was only a few. They came from another city and allowed to dance and share a microphone with all of us guests but we were all vaccinated and assigned seating, our own boat bubble and we couldn’t dance. Again, more information to change packing needs. I can do county club elegant but no gowns or dresses were needed, my classy activity wear, yes.
Service and Staff

Everyone was exceptional, Sophia, George, Ivo, Marisa, Peter and Yanko!!, Yanko was our saving grace for dinner details and made our week of food absolutely amazing. All staff was so kind under the pandemic circumstances with masks and all. Our cruise manager was very sweet and energetic but he seemed very overwhelmed with only just 75 people on such a big ship.
Ship Quality

Loved the new ship, we have always been on the more narrow ones, cabin layout, gym, dining room were awesome. Loved the al fresco restaurant and TWO fireplace libraries. Loved relaxing in the blue one. Didn’t understand the movie room bu5 maybe under normal circumstances it is functional. So easy to get to the deck however with the elevator broke, it felt less luxurious.

Ship tip
Gift shop is downstairs and unmanned so be prepared to know what you want to buy or see in the locked cabinet before getting a receptionist to come down. Also you can call on the phone in the gift shop to speak with someone or request them to come assist.
Taxis were a little late, which was nerve racking at 6:30am with a 7am train departure. Pretty seamless but we are past travelers. The Cruise Manager was on it and there to help.
I guess the cruiselines are all adjusting to their new realities, just as we all are. It's like everything is now divided between pre- pandemic and post pandemic, and it's still evolving. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of some inconveniences and disappointments.
