We were a little surprised by a few things here, paid room service? When did RC start that? Also, the constant, CONSTANT sales pitches from employees grew tiresome within hours of arrival and didn't stop until we left. Enough. Just enough. We're also not used to the halls being full of service carts and room service trays left all day on the floors, that's new. Let's talk about bar staff; I was surprised at how dismissive they were in some of the bars, some exceedingly friendly and AWSOME but some.... dismissive and seemed bothered. The Compass advertised Pisco sours at the Bolaris, so we arrive to be told by both the waiter and the bar tender that they don't stock Pisco and sent me up to then5th floor who quickly, and dismissively directed me to Bolaris. I spoke to a nice Filipino man at the service desk who made several calls for me to find the Pisco as advertised and finally sent me to Bolaris, I told him I'd already done the rounds up and down and tried the Bolaris again, yep, still no Pisco. Disappointing. Food service, excellent!!!! Overall a nice cruise but some things...

July 2016 - 14 Night Mediterranean Cities (Southampton Roundtrip) Cruise on Independence of the Seas

We had only two complaints about our 14 day European and Mediterranean trip on this ship; the first where the absolutely out of control Scottish and English kids that seem to run Ferrell all over the place at all hours. The second is the announcements at the lifeboat drill, completely unintelligible as the speaker was so loud that it could not be understood. The rest of the ship and the staff are absolutely amazing and they get our five stars

Wonderful ship, the only complaint we have is the port of Houston boarding process is not as smooth as other ports we've been through. The ship itself was great and we have no complaints.

Cruise tips

Seattle, Washington

We are from here. The baggage process was about average , porters are snatched up by the first through the lines and wait with bags for their tips outside so even partly through the bag collection process they were like hens teeth in the baggage area so don't plan to rely on them to move bags. I have a 13, and 11 and a 5 year old, wife on the way to the hospital from the ship and seven bags to manage, a porter would have been nice. Now waiting outside for our ride we have to dodge the porter carts to not be run over as they rush back in to get the last passengers. Oh well. The CBP experience was AWSOME, great people.

Falmouth, Jamaica

This is a filthy, dangers place; if your ship stops here do NOT leave the tourists trap area unless you're on an exclusion. We rare commend the Chukkan zip line tour at Ocho, the bus ride there there beautiful and their staff is AWSOME
