Great Weekend Trip by EdwardTravels

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The One night cruises that HAL offers are great weekend getaways for local people. We took the train to Vancouver and got on the ship by 1pm. Had a great time and I highly recommend that people local to Vancouver or Seattle take advantage of these great weekend trips

Relaxing pacific coastal cruise by skoolmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

This was a nice getaway for us. It was more about the cruise and less about the ports. We were able to connect with a friend in SF and that was the best part of the entire trip.

Ruby’s Makeover is AWESOME!! by GaryT7474

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

Ruby Princess had just come out of dry dock! Fresh paint, new carpet, and everything was extremely clean. Had a mini suite with Club Class upgrade! Well worth the little extra you pay for it! The embarkation literally took 15 mins from getting out of the taxi to being in our stateroom with the priority boarding. Club Class dining was especially nice, food was great, and the staff was superb!

Wonderful First Cruise by LoriBradAbbott

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

A wonderful first cruise. You don't have a lot of time at the Ports so make sure to have a plan so you can visit all areas you wish to explore. Staff are wonderful and if you have questions all you have to do is ask, every staff member was wonderful (however a few were very difficult to understand)

Basically a cruise to nowhere all weekend by mickonrun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

This is a great, short weekend getaway cruise. We noticed that the majority of the people left work early on Friday and went straight to the port, got on the ship, and come Monday morning they got off early and headed straight to work. Lots of people wearing their Seahawks attire all weekend. Proud group! The pool area was busy and the windjammer was packed at popular eating times but we always found a table quickly. The ship is perfect sized for a weekend cruise.

First Time Cruiser and service could have been better. The people I met made the trip. by lilchitchat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

We took a cruise for a quick getaway girls trip. The service starting out was not fantastic but by day 3 of our 4 day cruise service started to get better. I will give Royal another shot.

Nice Getaway by seas2day

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

This is the 2nd 4-day BCer on this ship and we were greeted from staff that remembered us. This is our (backyard), so didn't get off in Naniamo (not much to see), but did stroll Victoria harbour for a nice walk in our hometown. So much to see without doing the "touristy" tours. We have done the 7-day coastal on this ship also. We love this ship for its tentative, happy staff and the casual ambience of it. We are sad to have cancelled our 22-day transpacific on her, as we know it would have been a great time. Will miss this ship and staff when they reposition to England and Caribbean.

Not As Great As We Hoped It Would Be by CallahanClan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The use of "washy washy, good for your tummy" to disburse Purell lotion to diners was both condescending to travelers and racial stereotyping at it's worst for the poor Asian woman who was forced to say it over and over at every meal, every day of the cruise. We hated going to the Windjammer to eat. The dining room service wasn't great either. We arrived on time, but waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken while the staff waited for others at our table to arrive, which most of them didn't bother. The 8 pm seating was nearly empty. It was over an hour before we got our food. Everything shut down during port visits on the ship, except bars and food. We were hoping to visit the shops when it was less crowded. Nope. Weather forced everyone inside the first day due to cold and wind and it was crowded everywhere. Not much better other days. Barely went over 68. Thick fog the whole first night led to hearing the fog horn blare every 5 to 7 minutes from the ship in warning to other vessels. We were in the front of the ship, so it was very loud, all night long. By the 4th day, the bathroom smelled so bad of sewer smell, we could hardly stand to use it. The ship was showing it's age with rust, ratty carpets and smell, but was clean as possible for it's age. We grew tired of the trivia games and kareoke very quickly. Finally, get the beverage package at least, but recommend the food package as well, as the outlining restaurants had the best food and service. First time on Royal C. and sadly, we weren't impressed.

Not quite up to RCL standards by RAG1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

Dinning room service seems to have been cut back. Appeared to have been short handed. (Looks like a corporate decision.) Service did improve as the cruise went on. Apparently there are limits on heating and cooling cabin set points which I do not consider reasonable when on vacation. (Again, looks like a corporate decision.) Lowest cooling limit was 71.5. Wanted lower for sleeping in interior room.

This cruise was cancelled due to mechanical issues. It was dry docked Newcastle during this time. Royal Caribbean has refunded all monies paid and also given cruisers a Credit Voucher for another cruise equal to that originally paid. Thanks Royal Caribbea by ShirleyNuss

Perfect! by Lisacollins61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

we love Carnival, not so much for the ships as I think there are newer and fancier ships available, however the crew are the best in the industry and on all our cruises the Captains (Giuseppe Gazzano and Franceso La Fauci) are the most generous and amazing leaders and hosts. For that reason alone we wouldn't take a cruise with any other cruise line.
