Great weather--gorgeous ports! by GaryF2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rotterdam Retired / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

The refurbished Rotterdam (VI) is beautiful inside and out--very well maintained. We loved the new spaces such as the Mix and the Retreat with the outdoor big screen movies in the evenings. The itinerary was wonderful--South Pacific at it's best. Absolutely gorgeous Islands, atolls and motus. Wonderful colors of sand, sky and sea. Fanning Island stop was a very pleasant surprise with terrific buys on native handicrafts and friendly people. Sea days were filled with all sorts of enjoyable activities or we could just relax. Rotterdam has the best onboard entertainment we've seen on any cruise. There are so many choices for dining with the La Fontaine, Lido, Pinacle and Canaletto restaurants plus the pizza place at the Retreat and the Terrace Grill by the pool. Food was wonderful! Great variety and extensive menues.

THE ISLAND CRUISE MANY WOULD DESIRE. by RayM8

Sail date: /
Ship: Paul Gauguin / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

OLDER SHIP, HOWEVER WELL KEPT. WAIT STAFF WERE POLITE & HELPFUL. WE HAD AN OCEAN VIEW ROOM A BIT SMALL, HOWEVER IT WAS FINE FOR US. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME WE WERE ON AN ALL INCLUSIVE SHIP & BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE. WAIT STAFF WOULD'NT TRY TO PEDDLE THE "DRINK OF THE DAY" FOR $5.00-8.00 PLUS TIP. EXCURSIONS WERE A BIT PRICEY, BUT HEY YOUR IN TAHITI IT DOES COST MORE. SHIP OFFERED A DAY OUT IN A MOTOU (SPELLING?) TRIP. WHICH IS TAHITIAN FOR ISLAND. WOW IT WAS WONDERFUL & BEAUTIFUL. THIS SHIP IS GEARED FOR ADULTS, THEREFORE LACKED IN CHILDERN ACTIITIES.

WONDERFUL CRUISE by RayM8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Paul Gauguin / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

SAILED IN EARLY MARCH 2010. PLANE ARRIVED A FEW HOURS LATE HOWEVER SHIP WAITED FOR ABOUT 40 PASSENGERS. PORTS OF CALL NICE, EVEN THOUGH A TYPHOON HAD BLOWN THROUGH FRENCH POLYNESIA A MONTH OR SO AGO. FOOD WONDERFUL & PLENTIFUL. WE ALWAYS HAD AN APPETITE FOR THE ROOM SERVICE MENU. I HAVE 1 QUESTION ABOUT THE DRINK SERVICE. IN ALL THESE SITES THEY STATE WINES & SPIRITS ARE INCLUDED & PREMIUM DRINKS ARE AT CURRENT MENU PRICING. HOWEVER ON THIS SHIP ALL DRINKS WERE INCLUDED, EVEN CHAMPANGE. ANOTHER GREAT THING WAS ALL TIPS WERE INCLUDED. ON MANY CRUISE LINES SOME OF THE WAIT STAFF & OTHER HELP WONT GIVE YOU THE TIME OF DAY UNTIL IT COMES TO TIP NIGHT, THEN THEY ARE ALL SMILES & ACT AS IF THEY HAD KNOWN YOU FOR YEARS. ALL STAFF VERY FREINDLY THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE CRUISE. THIS SHIP IS TRUELY ALL INCLUSIVE.

It was fun with a lots of things to do. But, not kept celan. There were spills of pop in our room when we got there. Plus bugs were everywhere. I couldn't even sleep from all the buzzing!

This really is paradise! by EstherB3

Ship: Tahitian Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

Overall we absolutely loved the size of this ship. We have sailed on many ships and this was by far our favorite. The Tahitian Princess is intimate yet spacious, beautifully decorated but not over-stated and it visits the most beautifully unspoiled islands in the South Pacific.

A very nice cruise by ArlanB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Pacific Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

Our trip was Tahiti to Hawaii in 11 days/ We flew on Air Tahiti then the boat trip and flew home. To make the beds softer we ordered, for free, egg crate matress covers. Our room was on deck 3 and only had a port hole but it was much better than friends who were on deck 6 that covered the window with a life boat, also less roll on deck 3. We did't get to stop at Christmas Island, low tides. Eat dinner ever night in the club room, always good food slection, the rest of time at the buffet. My wife went to program to learn line dancing but the roll of the ship was too much for her. I went to a couple of Chess programs but no body show up, not even the director?? They had a good Ping Pong program. The pool was warm and very good but the hot tubs dials didn't work. The shore trips were great. On first Island 4 of us rented a taxi for about 3 hours and cost $35 each and it had air. On Boro Boro we reserved a 4X4 way ahead for the AM run, cooler and it was the thrill of a life time. It was the best 4X4 of any of the islands the boat went to. We paid about $2300 each for 11 days but there were about 80 people on board that paid about the same and got 22 days of cruising. Here is the way they did it. Prices drop after there is 90 days or less so buy one cruise from Vacations to go.com,Hawaii to Tahiti about $ 900 and also the return cruise from Tahiti to Hawaii $ 900 total $1800 + R/T air to Hawaii for us from Portland $500 Have twice the fun at the same cost and save the whole day flight to Tahiti, 14 hours.

What a Ship / Cruise by HerbW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Tahitian Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

This was our 22nd Princess cruise, and our 4th Tahiti cruise. We had sailed on the Tahitian Princess when it was the R-4, what an extreme change. Were it not for the limited choice in air lines (Air Tahiti Nui) we would probably come back to the Islands just to be on this ship. Our party consisted of my wife's twin and her husband, my sister-in-law, and mother-in-law to celebrate her 82nd birthday.

a unique experience by MaryA31

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Paul Gauguin (RETIRED) / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

We have cruised several times in the past seven years and had heard good things about the PG. We enjoyed the cabin; it reflected that we were on a ship, rather than a floating hotel. It was small, but very efficient. The lounge was nice, but no handrail on the steps made it difficult for some of the elderly passengers. Food and service were excellent. The decor was understated and pleasant. The entertainment was average. The lecturerers were very interesting and clearly educated about the area of the ship's itinerary. We enjoyed the experience, but felt that with the travel costs, it was a rather expensive cruise for what we were able to see and do. The islands have limited experiences- sightseeing is basically IT. I was disappointed in that this wasn't the luxury ship and clientele that I had been told to expect. We missed a quiet area in which to read during the day. The small ship doesn't have the space. The casino was little used and might have been replaced by a small quiet lounge for cards and reading.

Beautifull all over by ZizetteD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Tahitian Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

The tahitian princess is a small vesel that laks nothing, you can relax, party, eat and make friends. the service is great and the admosphere too. the only two things i would change is to the food from 2 pm to 6 pm not to be the same every day for 12 days, and xmas island, everything else was great.
