Visit to Pier 39 was excellent. Great restaurants and shopping. Sea lions are a must-sea. But a 2 hour wait for the city trolley was disappointing. A labour dispute caused major delays and we weren’t informed about it until we paid for our non-refundable tickets. Wasn’t worth the wait.

We did do an excursion to Muir Woods. Being from CA, I've never been to Muir Woods. Once back at the ship, we walked to Coit Tower. This once beautiful city is now dirty with human waste, needles, etc. Because we could not go to Astoria, OR, we got into San Francisco ahead of schedule. Going under the Golden Gate Bridge and sailing into the harbor was a highlight!!

Another good walking port. Our ship docked at Pier 27 and we walked to the right toward Pier 39 which has shops and restaurants and further down to the naval museum and Fisherman's Wharf. If you walk to the left, you come to the Ferry Terminal which has shops and food (like a farmer's market inside). From the ship on a clear day you can see the Golden Gate bridge and the Bay bridge and Alcatraz.
