We did not do a ship excursion, but we arrived several days early and did some sightseeing.

San Francisco is familiar to us. Fisherman’s Wharf is always a treat.

Very cool port was easy to Uber to and get on

Flew in the day before embarkation and enjoyed the great dining in the Fishermans wharf area. Be careful with debarkation as ship does not arrive until 8:00 am. Loved our Scottish Bus Driver who got us to SFO International Terminal on time. However, many missed their flights that they had booked early. Recommend departure noon or later.

Loved SF! The one thing I would change is the excursion through the city and Alcatraz and do it on my own next time because by the time we got to Alcatraz, we had so very little time to catch the ferry back to make the late afternoon sailing time, which was about 4:00. It would have been perfect if the ship had two more hours before sailing.
