It was so cold we couldn’t really enjoy the hop-on, hop-off bus tour. The second day we walked to the pier and enjoyed the shops and watching the seals.

My family did the Alcatraz and Sausalito tour. They enjoyed it. I love the city lights at night. Due to my exemption status I was limited to a few approved excursions in each port. I wasn’t interested in those that were offered, so I was happy to stay on board, relax in the beautiful Hollywood Conservatory and catch up on some reading while the rest of my party went ashore to explore. My husband and I have done this cruise a couple years ago, so I really didn’t care to go ashore anyway. Also, I should note that because of my exemption, I was not permitted to go ashore on my own, only through approved excursions. I knew this ahead of time and I was totally fine with it.

Beautiful port. Beautiful weather. Easily walkable distance to Pier 39 with shopping and dining plus sea lions! Also booked the hop on hop off tour to see the city quickly and really enjoyed it. It was worth the price booked through Norwegian as it was about $15 more per person booked through Big Bus Tours directly.
