Typical embarkation port, lots of shops, restaurants- very easy to taxi at the designated stand. There is a terrific market about 5min walk from port, found everything I wanted to bring home there. Merchants are so pleasant and happy to make recommendations and package things together for a lower price.

Capital city where the cruise begins. We spend a couple of days her and enjoyed local black sand beach, short waterfall hike, and the downtown market. There are tours to other parts of the island but this is really where the tour begins. There are a few major resorts with nice facilities to begin or end your trip.

The tour guide for the bus excursion was horrific - she repeatedly put down the local population and French culture. We did enjoy seeing the island though. We did report the tour guide to Princess.

I did not record the name of the Princess bus excusion we went on but we went all around Tahiti Nui (big piece). We had a nice lunch and saw some of the many beaches and caves around this part of the island. My wife like the caves, and we both enjoyed the history of the Island and the museum at the end was particularly interesting to learn about the ocean canoes. I gained a geat respect to their seaman ship of the polynesian people. The tour ran late and shops were closing when we returned to the Crown Princess.

We were dumped in a big horrible reception room, no windows, no excursions available, no chairs outside etc It was supposed to be a lounge we were 250 people and we were supposed to be able to visit.....HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

We did our own excursions prior to the cruise. Would highly recommend the island tour and also whale watching. These were booked through Viator. We also took a taxi to the Tahiti Museum after the cruise ended back in Papeete. Would highly recommend this if you have an interest in history and culture of the islands.

Papeete is the business end of the islands with a little hustle and bustle. Great local market with local food, fruits, clothes and trinkets.
