Decent port, took a tour, but had so many spots we only had 10-15 minutes at each of the 4 stops. Tried to explore afterwards since the tour allowed dropoff at the market/shopping area that was about a block from the port. I didn't explore much on foot since there was so much dog poop everywhere, had to watch where I was walking rather than the actual attractions, eateries, and shops in the area. I saw so many people dragging the dog poop since they were looking around instead of the ground.

Montevideo was a nice city with interesting history. We took a city sightseeing tour which drove us around the key highlights.

WE did a excursion which we found only OK. You need to visit all cities towns etc to see how a place works. We were only there for a short time so never got to see or feel the place. The restaurants ashore were spectacular.

We enjoyed walking around the markets. Had empanadas for lunch and had a wonderful time.

Montevideo was ok. It's a large city. A third of Uruguay's population lives here. We took a tour of the sights then drove out to another winery. However this time it wasn't as much for the wine as the dance performance. Our first introduction to Tango. Great show.

Did the Carnivale excursion. The drive around town was a ‘snooze’ drive (boring), but the Carnivale presentation at the museum was GREAT, costumes, singing was amazing. Then dancing after the presentation with the performers — great tour because of this presentation
