Sasebo is a very liveable US Naval base with very large and modern shopping centre close to the cruise terminal. Beware that re-entering Japan again after Busan requires long queues of immigration processing. We took a taxi to see the outstanding views of the islands at the Tenkaiho Observatory & Kujukushima Park, the Ishidake Observatory and a quick visit to the Mitajidake-jinja Shrine. This cost Y11000 but far cheaper than Ship tours!
