Just duplicate excursions from Alexandria

In this interesting city for 2 days. Explored on both days - a day trip to Cairo to visit the Pyramids of Giza. (Well worth it.) and also undertook a walking tour of Port Said on the second day.

Stayed on board the ship. Looking down from the ship onto land, was a row of military men in black holding automatic rifles, near some tall statue in a square. And tons of police escorts for those who ventured off the ship that day. After spending 14 hours the day before in Alexandria and Cairo, we had a blast staying on board the beautiful Norwegian Gem at Port Said.

Truthfully, this port was the entire reason we signed up for this itinerary. Seeing the pyramids of Giza was awesome! It was a very long day, and felt very rushed, but was still fantastic. Our guide was very good.

Crazy excursion to the pyramid. The country must be dangerous as there were police and military escorts all the way including an armed guard on each bus. Cairo looks bombed out and was too close to the pyramids but they were fun to see. The sphynx is small and underwhealming. The military stopped our bus a dozen times and we got back to the boat an hour late, obviously the boat waited, but it was an interesting experience. I wouldn't go back, but I am glad I experienced it once.
