Went to Volcano's National Park which was very interesting.

We did not book an excursion and the port was quite far from any popular location

Shore-excursion purchased from Princess is scheduled to end around 4:30pm and it ends around 3:00pm. Not to mention we were set loose in a hotel to "swim" if willing. Turned out nobody did. With this level of content, price is way too high.

Hilo is amazing. Since my husband couldn't walk too much (surgery) we looked for easy excursion, which it took us to shopping places mostly. We wanted to see the Island, no to shop.

Volcanos National Park. Windy and cold but still fabulous

Did the ship excursion: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Orchid Garden ( unexpectedly replaced by Macadamia Nuts Farm and Shop). The Hawaiian driver/ guide did not give us enough time in the Park. We hurried through some outlooks but didn’t even have time to go to the Visitor’s Center ( a great regret) as the guide pointed the other direction to the Volcano House Hotel ( with a nice outlook). And we took to the Macadamia nut place, not knowing the process of production or growing processes, but only a stop to buy nuts and chocolates. The shop is also very poorly equipped. Should see the Japanese Orchid Garden as included in the program.

We took the Rainbow Falls excursion and loved it. Beautiful scenery - amazing vegetation and flowers. The hike to the falls was moderately stressful - lots of stairs to climb, but certainly worth the exertion if one is able to do it.

It was nice and a lot to see
