Beautiful. Very old world. The architecture is gorgeous and their is an excavated ruin of an authentic Roman theatre. I highly suggest a walking excursion that includes food. The longer one takes you to the Roman theatre with express entrance and stops at five different bars/restaurants for your choice of wine, beer, coffee or sodas along with that locations specialty tapa. A shorter one includes a guided walk to a market place where your are guided in selecting produce, seafood, etc then after the purchase is made you walk to a restaurant which takes your purchases and makes a delicious Paella for you to lunch on. This is only a 2 hour excursion and leaves you with plenty of time on your own in Cartagena.

None of the excursions seemed interesting enough to pay the steep prices for them. We'd just done Roman history in Rome. I didn't need another dose in Spain.

Beautiful walking routes, old world feel. It was raining during our visit so we did not do much exploring

We did a ship excursion and were disappointed with the tour. We felt as if we just paid for transportation into town. We probably would have been better off just taking a taxi or another form of transportation. It was a nice place though.

We walked the port area and enjoyed the small shops and views.

Nice city. The excursion guide spoke very poor english. He stood on the wharf and talked at us for 30 mins telling us what we were going to see instead of walking to the places and then telling us about them. Had trouble finding his words and used a lot of Uh, Uh, Uh while he thought.

We did a walking tour of Malaga focusing on Tapas (English language). We had a fantastic tour guide and there were only 3 people on the excursion.
