Nice 5 minute walk to city center from ship. Beautiful port city with many attractions to see. We decided to make an easy day here visiting Roman Theater & other ruins. Start early because there's a 3 hr siesta. This is a relaxing port stop and loved it.

Ok but not spectacular. It’s disappointing to pay for a cruise then discover you have to pay for transportation into town as well. That or pay for an overpriced ship excursion.

Fun little city, lots of flies though. Teatro Romano was awesome as was the city center. Easy walk from the port. We did not do an excursion.

Lovely naval port and ship docked very close to the centre. We booked an excursion to see a horse ranch, which was fantastic. You visit a family home, learn all about the Andalucian horses, meet some, see a stampede and watch a horse dance with a flamenco dancer. Magical visit well worth it. We had time after the trip to explore the town, which was quite busy as a local running race was being held. There is a nice roman theatre to see too amongst the city centre and walk up to a small castle on the hill.

Unfortunately, we were docked in the shipping port and had to take shuttles into town. This caused us to not do very much while in Cartagena. We did walk around on our own and enjoyed some of the sites, especially the Roman theater.
