Needed more free time. Large city.

Nuremberg is an incedible place. Avalon's treatment of the city gets three stars. First, our tour guide should have discussed the areas we drove by in more detail, particularly knowing we were all not from Europe. The world doesn't know Nuremberg for its Christmas Market, we know it for the role it played as a Nazi stronghold. Even a general, city tour should highlight Nazi sites as a drive by. Then our tour guide, Gabi, left us off the bus at the castle, without a word about it, and offered a photo stop. The people in our group that got the most out of it were the ones that tagged along with another group from our ship where their tour guide took them to the best place for pictures and explained things a little. Finally, she left us at St. Lawrence church without a word of explanation until I asked questions. I felt abandoned. She should have taken us in to talk about the inside of the church, explained the outside, talked about the flip between Catholic and Protestant and what that means today. It could have been so much more interesting.

We did the World War II tour, and it was very interesting and informative. It was very hot and our tour guide tried very hard to keep us in the shade.

Charged us over 100 euros each. Made 3 stops then dropped us it town for the worst meal of the trip. Pancake soup, 6 very small sausages, sauerkraut and ice cream.

We just boarded in Nuremberg. There was no excursion.

Not the cruise lines fallut but the excursion to the Christmas market was horrible. Very crowded wall to wall people could barely move and shopping was impossible.

We went to the Zeppelin Field (Nazi rally grounds) and the courthouse where the Nazi trials were held. Our guide was probably one of the best tour guides we ever had. He was exceptionally informative and was able to answer any question posed.
