Le Havre (Paris), France Port Q&A

Is it worth it to take a bus tour of Paris with the amount of travel time to and from the port? My wife is considering a third party tour because the ship doesn’t really offer anything. Thank you in advance!

I did the Paris on your own from the ship. We had about 4 hours there. wasn't sure if we would get back to Paris or not. while it was a shirt time, it was worth it to go with the ship. 3rd parties are never a good idea with that kind of travel time. the LaHarve port is also a trip to Normandy which is also worth a tour.

I share a similar view as Manda883. Our first time visiting France and we wanted to see Paris. We booked the ship’s Paris on your own excursion and were able see the notable tourist landmarks, i.e., Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Bridge of Locks, and a stroll down the Av. des Champs Elysees past parks and museums. We ate lunch outside at a small sidewalk cafe and visited a bakery for some sweet treats. The bus trip was a little more than two hours and we had about five hours to tour Paris. Our trip gave us a small glimpse of this beautiful city and the urge to visit it again on a river cruise.

We did the cruise ship excursion similar to above, but we had a gourmet luncheon on a river cruise. It was a fantastic meal!

We decided against it. 2.5 hrs each way on the bus with very little time in Paris.

we did the ship excursion to say we went to Paris. our time was very short, and only do this if you want a brief overview. we would like to return for an extended time. The bus was comfortable but 6 hours total took a big chunk of our day.

We took the tour to the landing beaches in Normandy and the American Cemetery. Long bus ride but shorter than going to Paris. Great tour actually.

We had never been to Paris, so took the bus from port to the city. I think we had about 4 hours there, we moved around quickly on foot and were surprised how much we got to see. We were thrilled to get to Paris, thought it was well worth the time on the bus to and from.
