Wish someone told us not to ride 6 hours on a train to Florence and only sight see for 2 hours it just didn’t add up.

At the last minute, we decided to visit Cinque Terre instead of Piza and Florence, and we are very happy we did! We did the excursion through Celebrity for this port. Our guide was lovely and we enjoyed every part of it, but compared to what we paid for other excursions we booked on our own, I did not feel the value for the money was there. More food and wine should have been included at $225pp. 3 tiny bites of bruschetta and a sip of one wine felt somewhat insulting for what was paid. At least provide unlimited water. It felt like a perfect amount of time in Monterosso, but Porto Venere felt very rushed. I recommend the tour guides tell the group to ensure they eat lunch in Monterosso bc they will not have time to do so in Porto Venere.

We went to Leaning tower via boat ride. Leaning tower location beautiful - glad we got to see it. Would have liked more time so we could have entered church.

Took train to Piza. Train is a bit confusing.

Luka was cool. Pisa on your own - rainy day. The vendors were aggressive. We ate there and shopped by Pisa. It was great!

Tour and guide were both good.

Cruise needs better options to get from ship to town for people who want to explore on their own.

This port would be the beginning of a series of “headphone” tours that would ultimately define the Italy portion of our cruise. This tour actually ended up being overbooked which resulted in a lot of the early tour being very disorganized. We took a bus from the port about 2 hours inland to Florence. We were given small radios and earbuds to wear so we could hear the guide as they toured us. We ended up arriving behind schedule which resulted in a rushed tour, which was very sensory overloading. After we ate lunch (in a very nice hall I will admit), things calmed down and the tour got better. We saw the statue of David and drove back to the port. I got many nice pictures at this port but things could’ve been run better.
