Train is a nightmare with people pushing and crowding to get on. Recommend doing Cinque Terre when you can take some time to go through all five villages. We only made it to two.

This tour was great, I had a beach day after the first half of the day visiting the Leaning tower of Pisa. I had a great time.

Nothing to do at La Spezia itself but close to Cinqe Terre. Florence is a long trip from the port.

It's far from Florence. Spend more time in transit than in Florence itself.
