Too far a bus ride. Local tour guide was friendly enough, but difficult to understand due to heavy brogue. 8 minute video basically gave all the information needed. Ruins were anticlimactic.

The provided tour was not very good

We did the Princess excursion Loch Ness Monster/Urquhurt Castle, wish we had done a boat tour on Loch Ness.

Loved this stop. We had an excursion through Viator

We booked another excursion at this port through shoreexcursionsgroup.com to Inverness and Loch Ness. It rained most of the day but the scenery was so beautiful that we didn't mind. Be careful when booking your excursion because some offer a boat ride on Loch Ness and some don't. Luckily, our tour included a boat ride on Loch Ness to Urquhart Castle. The castle is interesting but the area is hilly so be prepared for a lot of walking up and down hills. Inverness is a pretty city. I recommend visiting Inverness Cathedral and St Andrew's Cathedral. Both are beautiful. I had the best fish'n chips on the entire trip at Encore Une Fois restaurant in Inverness.

Had whisky and lunch (fantastic) at MacGregor's pub in Inverness after Loch cruise. One of the best experiences of our cruise.
