You do not actually arrive or depart in or from Waterford so either book an excursion or plan to book travel. Taxis are very limited.

As always, if you did not book an excursion through the cruise line it was totally confusing on how to get from the ship to the town which was 30 min. Away. On the ship they told us there were no taxi’s Ubers or buses available. When we got off the ship there were Taxi’s and a bus to take you to town. We Enjoyed the Viator Viking walking tour.

Abysmal transportation. Not much information provided. The fact was that if you had an NCL excursion, you got picked up at the tender dock. Else you had to go stand in line for a cab, which took hours. Or you had to walk up and around a hill to stand in a longer line to get a local bus, which only came by every 2 hours. Returning to the ship was the same. People even mobbed the bus!! Local residents had trouble getting home after work! Totally disgusting organization between NCL and Waterford transportation folks.

Not bad. Average. We walked around city center. Went to the Waterford showroom. Be advised that this is really just window dressing. Most of Waterford Crystal is made elsewhere since it went bankrupt in 2009. In fact, in their showroom I was going to buy a snow globe. I picked it up and it said "made in china". Not worth the time. The other place we visited was Waterford Distillery. This is definitely worth the time and is an original where it is actually made in the place that it is named after.

Ship arrived with thousand plus passengers. No buses or taxis to bring people from port to Waterford. After waiting in line for 90 minutes, we gave up and walked the harbor village, which was nice.

We enjoyed the port at Dunmore East. Our excursion to Waterford and Kilkenny Castle was very nice. Lunch was included. Our tour guide pointed out the only pub in Dunmore East which we visited... Powers Bar - very cool place.

We did not take the bus to Waterford but stayed in Dunmore East. We did the sea cliff walk and didn’t regret it for a moment. The sun was shining and we enjoyed it so much. A late lunch at ‘The Strand’ was very enjoyable. Try the fresh seafood chowder! This is a tender port.
