Did a ship excursion to visit windmills and watched clogs being made. The weather made the visit very pleasant.

We were a bit disappointed by Amsterdam. The streets were dirty, the bins were overflowing, and there was a strong smell of weed. We did see some beautiful landmarks and took a boat tour of the canals. However, we quickly saw everything of interest.

Easy access to the port from the airport by train to central station then one stop on the tram to passenger terminal. Tickets can be used on both train and tram within one hour.

We love Amsterdam and stayed for 2 extra nights to explore the Rijksmuseum, Heineken Experience, Madam Toussand Wax Museum, and take a tour that included the Anne Frank house.

Walked around and visited the Van Gogh museum which I pre-booked and was excellent. Definitely look up the ratings before eating somewhere because the food in Amsterdam is to die for so don't miss it. Street vendors in tourist areas are probably a waste of money and there are SO many amazing places to eat down cute little alleys.

Amsterdam was a bonafide city with all the congestion and crowds you would expect. We did a Windmill excursion. The guide met us outside the cruise terminal. The windmill tour was great. They even had a clog-making demonstration. Afterwards, we went to a cheese maker. The guise dropped us off in Amsterdam at a canal tour location. The canal tour was a lot of fun. They provided wine and cheese and gave us an hour-long boat ride through the bustling city. Afterward, my wife and I walked back to the ship instead of taking a cab. It was a warm and sunny Friday afternoon and everyone was out enjoying the weather.
