There wasn't enough time at this port to really explore.

Love Amsterdam. Thankfully we did it on our own. We were able to stay downtown near the museums and canals. Rijksmuseum was great as was the canal boat ride. None of this had anything to do with Viking. We booked it all on our own.

This was the first port instead of the last port.

Amsterdam is such a beautiful city with a lot of history, cool architecture, green spaces, and fun things to do. We chose to walk along the canals, visit parks, and take an evening canal cruise. Just watch out while you are walking - bicyclists are everywhere (we were told over 1 million bicycles there) and they do not stop for pedestrians. 😆

Interesting tour of a wonderful old city.

Fun, walkable city. Our ship was docked behind the main train station, so it was reasonably easy to walk straight from the ship into town after dropping off our luggage and freshening up. Don’t forget to pick up a stroopwafel! Also highly recommend trying some Indonesian food if you can. We did takeout and enjoyed our food on a bench while people watching.

Saw Ann Frank, Riks, Van Gogh, Heineken, and Tulips. The tulips were amazing.
