It is a very nice city with channels. The airport is very busy so you have to wait almost 5 hours to pass security, we lost our fly and 3 lugages.

After waiting hours to get through a closed lock that no on the bridge knew was fine. The boat docks in center of town.

No excursion. This was only the port of disembarkation.

Saw very little, a short walk before ship activities.

Canal cruise is a must

One thing we stayed two days there. Took a tour to Zaans Schans the first day and it had all the working windmills and quaint houses. So pretty. Worth to visit there. Second day went into Amsterdam. Everything you want to see is so spread out so definitely buy an all day ticket to use the Trams and Buses. Watch out for the bicyles, lol. But everyone so nice and I wish we would have had a few more days to see everything I wanted. So, So Mush to see. Beautiful city. Also there is a direct train from Amsterdam to the Airport and back. The train is under the airport, FYI

Opted for early arrival. Well worth the extra cost and time.

We arrived one day before we sailed and set up a couple of tours around Amsterdam.

Crowded

I felt the city to be dirty and overcrowded. The canals and houseboats where interesting but people where rude and I did not feel safe.
